Process Safety is well legislated for and has been implemented for many years. The Seveso Directive (EU) and the COMAH regulations (UK) have been in force since 1982. Process Safety Management (US) – PSM 1910.119 has been in force from 1990. These legislative standards have been revised in the last twenty years and increasingly provide more stringent standards that have to be followed.
