INTRODUCTION
This highly participative EuroMaTech Urban Planning training course focuses in Urban Planning as a way to resolve current challenges of Metropolitan areas. The many functions of a city are involved in affecting the social, economic, and environmental concerns of its residents, and the processes of urban planning are in many cases lagging behind the challenges of today. As it is known that urbanization is a constantly changing phenomenon and cities with rapidly expanding populations must implement urban planning that combines physical redevelopment with improving the social, economic, and environmental characteristics of its current and future residents.
