INTRODUCTION
In this programme we look in depth at the relationship between the executive and the organization in order to understand how individual effectiveness is harnessed to create improved organizational performance. Of the many books written on this subject one stands out. This is Peter Drucker “The Effective Executive”. First written in 1967 and updated several times since then, it is regarded as a standard masterwork and it has influenced the design of this programme.
You will work on trends and strategies in the following key areas.

- How to deal with complexity, choice and imperfect information
- Decision-making under partial uncertainty
- Motivating people and creating a learning environment
There are well-documented cases of highly trained and committed executives failing to engage with the organization’s objectives and culture, with the result that there is wasteful underperformance and shortfalls against objectives and plans. TRAINING METHODOLOGY
Participants will learn by active participation throughout the programme through the use of course materials, exercises, DVD material and discussion of “real life” issues in their organizations. In addition the programme leader will draw on best practice (illustrating Peter Drucker’s principles) in organizations with which he has been personally involved. Video clips of Peter Drucker himself will be incorporated into the programme method.
TRAINING SUMMARY
This programme concentrates on leveraging key skills required in executive activity and behaviour in an organizational context. We focus on the tools and techniques for applying relevant contemporary leadership and management skills to fulfilling plans and achieving organizational objectives and performance targets. The questions of creating an organization that values and supports continuous learning and the motivating effect that this has on your teams are addressed in detail.
A copy of “The Effective Executive” is provided for each delegate at the start of the programme.
