INTRODUCTION
This workshop gives practical skills and knowledge to improve your situation awareness, including awareness of body language and facial expressions. The workshops helps participants develop an awareness and understanding of security issues, and the skills to interpret human behaviour patterns linked to safety, crime and terrorism in public and private places.
Situational awareness is very important, not just for personal security but as a fundamental building block in collective security. When combined with body language and facial expression awareness it becomes even more effective.
It is the perception of environmental, spatial dynamics, people and behavioural elements with respect to time and/or space, the comprehension of their meaning, and the projection of their status after some variable has changed.
Situation awareness (SA) involves being aware of what is happening in the vicinity, including the actions and behaviours of people, in order to understand how information, events, and one’s own actions will impact goals and objectives, both immediately and in the near future.
TRAINING METHODOLOGY
Throughout the workshop delegates will explore the use of situational and body language awareness using group exercises, role play and group discussion. Video may also be used to help reinforce feedback.
