This programme is about exploring and mastering skills that will comfortably take delegates to the next level of competence. It begins with practical insights into leadership and behavioural styles and then quickly moves into core competencies needed in managing organisation, people and change.
The Certified Manager is endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). Delegates will complete an assessment at the end of the programme and, if successful, will become certified with the ILM. The assessment will focus on the topics covered by this programme.
Training input will consist of practical lecturettes, role plays, video clips, case studies and self-revealing instruments/questionnaires. Learning will be enhanced through active involvement; individual and group exercises followed by review. Opportunities for self-assessment will be provided and feedback on individual and group performance will be encouraged. Participants will work on their own individual team issues during the programme.
Delegates who attend this programme will learn to take responsibility for helping their team members build the personal capacity needed to transform the organisation’s vision into reality. Delegates will learn how to channel their skills and motivation into improving performance. Core competencies important to every organisation addressing global change and growth will be encouraged. They will be equipped to make a significant contribution to moving their organisation in desired directions and steer their teams through the change process.
Delegates will leave the programme with new insights into their preferred leadership and management styles. They will have learned about behavioural styles that will increase interpersonal communication and assist with problem-solving. They will also have refined their ability to influence senior management peers and subordinates.
DAY 1 - The Leader in You
DAY 3 - Encouraging Your People to Give Their Best
Following attendance on the programme, delegates will plan and complete an assignment of their choice which should focus on the topics covered by this course. Your Plan should be limited to a three month period of activity.
You are given 4 weeks to complete the assignment.
